Balance is the key to pairing cigars and drinks whether be Whiskey, Scotch, Bourbon, Cognac,
Wine or Coffee. One shouldn't outdo the other.
Rather, they should enhance each other.

Whiskey
-Full-bodied cigars tend to pair best with full-bodied whiskeys in part because they share common flavors of leather, nuts, rye and baking spices.

Scotch
-Bourbon enthusiasts argue its natural sweetness perfectly complements the smoky, sweet, and spicy profile many cigars offer. Scotch, on the other hand, can be deep, commanding, and more resonant, making it fit in better with the best strong cigars

Bourbon
-The well-known and loved American whiskey, bourbon, is also known to be one of the best pairings for cigars. It is based on corn and is aged in charred oak; the liquid develops a sweet flavor that is filled with flavor perfect for blending with the taste of a cigar.

Cognac
- Dominican cigars adapt very well to young cognacs. A middle-aged cognac, like Martell VSOP, also combines well with Dominican cigars. Favour those with fine and spicy sweetness that are easy to smoke, or have a medium-bodied profile.

Wine
-Dry wine works very well with cigars and the best ones are medium, medium to full-bodied or even full-bodied cigars. Yet it is Cabernet Sauvignon that dominates the cigar and dry red wine pairing category

Coffee
-The best method is to choose a coffee and a cigar that have similar flavor profiles. For example, a mild cigar would pair best with a light roast coffee. A medium strength cigar would go best with a medium roast coffee. And a strong, rich cigar would pair best with a dark roast coffee.

Quick Tip
-Pairings are extremely personal.
You may completely disagree with methods of pairing
Neither is wrong it simply depends on your preference.

A cigar smoker is frequently asked if they should wet their cigar or dip it into drink before smoking it. It is a great way to enjoy a good cigar and a vintage bourbon, cognac, wine or coffee. This is the easiest thing in the world to saturate the head of your cigar and try different ways to enjoy your stick
